Fashion meets kids interior

This Sunday it’s time for a brand new Fashion Meets Kids Interior styled by Sanne van Gestel. In Fashion Meets Kids interior we give you an exclusive look in the kids and baby rooms of real fashion moms. Sanne van Gestel is a well-known stylist in The Netherlands and famed for her Parisian chic taste and international allure. She has studied Interior and for Prêt à Pregnant she wanted to create a concept that mixed her passion for interior, kids and fashion. An interior says a lot about personality and is a beautiful way to portrait a person.

Today our gorgeous contributor Kelly Janssen of The House of Kelly opens the doors to her lovely home. Kelly is the mom of two little girls and has an amazing taste. She loves timeless pieces, fun eyecatchers and pink!
Have a look and get inspired.

Can you describe your style?

Beautiful soft tones. A lot of beige, taupe and pink. A very girly style, with calm tones. With lovely eyecatchers in the rooms.

How did you decorate the rooms of your girls?

We have the same floor coverings and curtains on the upper floor in every room. So the basis was already determined. We had already thought about that when we build our house. The rooms both have the same layout, chest of drawers and chairs. Furthermore, we have kept the style the same but with just other accessories and such.

Are their significant influences of your style in their rooms?

The same soft colors as our bedroom. And the most important ? the same cupboards as mommy has in her walk in closet. Very handy pax cabinets. So that there is a lot of storage space and overview.

What are the most precious item in your girls’ rooms?

Beautiful play suits. These were the first suits we bought and which were chosen by me and my husband. After we had a 20-week ultrasound in both pregnancies, we started shopping.

What are your favorite kids interior brands?

I like nice and good quality. My favorite brands are Stokke, Cybex, Koeka and Sleepyhead. And they all stand for beautiful items with good quality.

Can you share your best interior styling tip?

We thought it was a shame to spend a lot of money on a temporary cupboard and changing table. We have chosen an Ikea drawer unit and we use it as a changing table. When the girls are older, the drawer unit can still be used. The same goes for to the closet. For this we opted for an Ikea pax cabinet, a nice large and well-organized cabinet. They can also use it for a long time. With three ladies at home, we can not have enough cabinets of course.

Neutral tones for the room of both girls with beautiful eyecatchers. I love soft colors, nice knits and sweet shoes for the girls.
The Moses crib is really an ideal crib.

Olivia-Fay between my Louis Vuitton bag collection. I think that if the girls are teenagers, I have to share my bag collection with them.;)

A lot of pink. Not ‘candy pink’ but beautiful soft pink colors. I prefer to dress the girls in pink, white and beige or soft shades.
Now that Olivia-Fay is getting older I also add more and more colors and prints. I am crazy about black clothes but not for the girls.
Soon when they are older, they can still wear a lot and often black.

The box is a place where Isabella likes to lay down. She loves it when we put on the music mobile and sit beside her.
In the Sleepyhead she is safe and secure.

I love leopard print and so it was no coincidence that I fell in love with this Artipoppe cloth in leopard print.

Recently, Olivia-Fay has her own pink table and chairs. Cups of tea are regularly drunk and books are read.
Her hairy Doudou girlfriend the swan is keeping her company.
